Each child has their own unique sensory needs. At Bright Like Nicol Camp, sensory based activities are a highlight of our day. We have daily water play and a variety of structured and unstructured opportunities for sensory based learning.

Our Camp has a heavy focus on communication. Group and Individual Speech Therapy are included daily with a Speech Therapist heavily trained in AAC use. Student devices are used all throughout the day to encourage engagement, facilitate social interaction, and increase opportunities for independence and self determination.

For children with more complex needs, opportunities for natural inclusion are far too limited in the traditional school setting. Our camp focuses on increased opportunities for social interactions with children who do not have complex needs. Peers are present at camp daily and are participants in Peer Mediated Intervention and Instruction in preparation for camp.
